Market Updates

Weekly Economic Update: November 12, 2024

• Yields were mixed during a volatile trading week with the two-year Treasury note increasing by five basis points to 4.26% while the five-year note declined by three basis points to 4.19%

• The FOMC lowered the Fed funds target rate to a range of 4.50% - 4.75% as inflation continued to decelerate however, Chair Powell was coy on policy going forward stating that the economy and the labor market remain “solid”

• The week brings a hefty amount of economic data to the table with the potential to stoke volatility in financial markets with October’s CPI release on Wednesday, PPI on Thursday and retail sales on Friday
