Weekly Economic Update: May 11th, 2020

• Bond yields fell slightly last week as the two-year Treasury note decreased by four basis points to 0.16% while the five-year note fell two basis points ending the week at 0.33%.

• The steepest historical decline in employment was recorded on the April jobs report as unemployment surged from 4.4% to 14.7%.

• The road to recovery looks anything but smooth as adverse data continues to pour in, and easing government restrictions can only be so effective when virus fears are still prevalent among consumers.
